       Type Sch 'Shchuka' was the standard attack class;
       Type S "Stalinist" more developed attack class, similar to german units.
       Type K 'Katyusha' was the big, modern and powerful oceanic submarine.
       Type M "Malyutka" - little submarine for coastal operations.
       V units ex-british submarine, leased as the aid.
Also there were 6 submarines of type D "Decabrist" (old attack class, the first built in the USSR) and 3 ones of type P "Pravda" (large submarine-cruisers).

The other classes in Baltic:
       Kalev ex-estonian captured units;        Ronis ex-latvian captured units.
       L-55 single ex-british submarine sunk during the Civil War by bolshevik destroyers and later raised.
       American Holland very old submarines of the WWI, still in service.
